Redevelopment work to improve accessibility and create more space for patient care is currently due to start at Castlehead Medical Centre on the 14th of September, lasting until November 2026.
The planned improvements include:
- installing push-button automatic doors at the main entrance and within the hallway, making it easier for people with reduced mobility to move around the building;
- creating two additional consulting room, increasing the space available for appointments; and
- resurfacing the driveway to provide a smoother surface for wheelchair users and create several additional parking spaces.
The work is being supported through the Government’s Primary Care Utilisation and Modernisation Fund 2025 to 2026. This fund supports improvements to GP premises, creates additional capacity and helps practices provide more patient appointments. Castlehead Medical Centre is included in the official list of supported schemes.
There may be some minor disruption while the work is completed. We will do our best to keep this to a minimum and appreciate your patience and understanding.
These improvements form part of our continued commitment to making the practice more accessible and improving the service we provide to our patients.
